On 9 May Carin crossed from Robben Island to Three Anchor Bay in rough conditions, in a time of 2h50, just 5 minutes off the record held by Annemi Landmeters, set in the 1980s.

Carina was the first female and fourth swimmer overall to finish the 25km International Swimming crossing of the Toroneos Gulf in Greece.
